Spiked Green Juice Cocktail: The Perfect Way to Start Your Day or End Your Night
Anne Murray, MS, RD
I spiked my morning green juice and it turns out it makes a really great cocktail! It's the perfect balance of bright, refreshing and (almost healthy?). That's what I like to think.. you can make this into a cocktail by adding vodka or tequila, or keep it as a refreshing mocktail and make it without alcohol. This refreshing and invigorating drink is packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants from a variety of leafy green vegetables and fruits. So you can hydrate while you sip. You don't even need a juicer to make it!
Make green juice by using a juicer or blender. For blender method place green apples, cucumbers, celery and water in to a blender and blend on high for 2 minutes.
Strain liquid through mesh strainer or cheesecloth and discard pulp
Store green juice in a glass container
Fill a shaker with ice and add alcohol, green juice, lime juice and honey. Shake until frothy
Line glass with tajin rim + pour cocktail over one big ice cube
Garnish with lime and enjoy!

Notes
For a spicier cocktail, add a jalapeño pepper to the blender along with the other ingredients. Remove the seeds and ribs from the jalapeño before adding it to the blender, unless you want a very spicy cocktail.
You can also add other herbs and spices to your spiked green juice cocktail, such as mint, cilantro, basil, ginger, or turmeric. Experiment with different flavors to find your favorite combination.
If you don't have a juicer, you can blend the ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth. Then, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any pulp.
To make a virgin cocktail, simply omit the liquor.
This cocktail can be served chilled or over ice.
Garnish with a slice of jalapeño, a sprig of mint, or a twist of lemon.
